Welcome and about me

Welcome to my website. I am a global intellectual historian, particularly focused on global political thought in the long twentieth century. My research is especially concerned with the movement and development of ideas relating to political organisation, gender, and violence in the colonial and postcolonial context. I am the author of The Thought of Bal Gangadhar Tilak (Oxford University Press India, 2024), https://academic.oup.com/book/56333 and am currently pursuing research into populist nationalism, and global, comparative perspectives on the right.

I obtained my doctorate at the University of Oxford and have taught modern global and South Asian history at Oxford as well as the University of Leeds, Cardiff University, and the University of Nottingham.

Here you can find information on my projects and forthcoming publications, including my forthcoming edited volume on ‘Populist Nationalism as a Global Phenomenon’ (Bloomsbury Academic, projected publication late 2026).
